What are the implications to our legal system of the United States if Trump does not go to jail?5/31/2024 The U.S. Constitution 8th Amendment states:
"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." The U. S. Constitution 14th Amendment states: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” If Donald Trump is not sentenced to jail for being found guilty of 34 felonies then according to the 8th and 14th amendments of the Constitution anyone found guilty of any felony must not be sentenced to jail time since a rich and famous white male was not required to serve any jail time. Henceforth, anyone can claim that being sentenced to serving jail time is “cruel and unusual punishment”. If some rich and famous white man can get away with it, then anyone should be entitled to avoiding jail time for committing a felony. This is the devastating impact of not punishing a rich white male to the punish he legal is supposed to serve.
